Karl-H. Foerster will leave PlasticsEurope (Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticseurope.org) on 1 September 2019. The European association of plastics producers said his departure is for personal reasons and by mutual consent. The steering board thanks Foerster for six successful years that include internal reforms and an expansion of membership. Of note, he played a key role in founding the World Plastics Council (WPC, www.worldplasticscouncil.org – see Plasteurope.com of 18.01.2018).
PlasticsEurope president Javier Constante said, “Among Karl’s many contributions, one of the most important milestones he achieved was the development of the voluntary commitment ‘Plastics 2030’, which became part of the European Commission’s plastics strategy towards a circular economy.” Constante has been president of the association since late 2018 (see Plasteurope.com of 23.11.2018).
