PEGUFORM
Group turnover of 2.6 bn in 2000 / Market leader for exterior automotive components
For the Peguform group, the results of business year 2000 corresponded to the positive economic development of the European automotive industry. Turnover of Germany´s Peguform GmbH & Co KG (D-7926 Bötzingen; www.peguform.de)rose by more than 4% to EUR 790m. The result of regular business activity was EUR 34.4m following a deficit of almost EUR 13m in 1999. However, this deficit was created by special accruals and deferrals related to the sale of the former Peguform GmbH to the US holding Venture Holdings Trust (Fraser, Michigan/USA) and other extraordinary burdens.
In its annual report for 2000 (PIE-No. 45300), Peguform said that in 2000, as in previous years, it maintained “the leading position in the relevant market for production of plastic exterior car components.” Last year, the company opened a fifth site at Meerane in eastern Germany for cockpits and door claddings for VW´s new luxury car model.
Peguform GmbH & Co KG is a subsidiary of Venture Beteiligungs GmbH (limited partner) and Venture Verwaltungs GmbH (full partner). These firms are part of Bötzingen, Germany-based Venture Germany GmbH, which is itself a member of the Venture Holdings Trust. Last year, Peguform group had an overall turnover of about EUR 2.6 bn. Some 50% of business was with the Volkswagen group (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda). The group employs 5,000 in Germany and almost 11,000 worldwide. With 2,100 employees, Peguform France SA is the group´s second largest company, followed by Peguform Iberica with a workforce of 1,400.
Last year, the Peguform group founded a 50:50 joint venture, Matra Venture Composites (F-41300 Theillay), with Matra Automobile, a French supplier of Matra composites (processing of fibre-reinforced plastics). In 2000, the new British subsidiary Peguform UK Ltd. (Kimpton Road, GB-Luton LU2 ONB) was established. This corporation once was part of the automotive division of T&D Industries, which became insolvent in 1999. The Luton facility produces mainly injection moulded car components for Vauxhall / General Motors.
As reported (see Plasteurope.com 18, 2001) Peguform is acquiring Mitras Automotive (HQ: D-92637 Weiden; www.mitras.com) on 1 October 2001. The company produces GRP parts für the automotive industry.
