According to Korbinian Kiesl, owner and CEO of French injection moulding machinery maker Billion (Bellignat; www.billion.fr), the company is expecting a drop in sales of around a quarter to EUR 29 mn for 2024. Still, Kiesl noted that he believes his firm is better positioned than the major competitors. “They’re having to deal with competition from Asia,” he told Plasteurope.com at this year’s Fakuma trade fair. “Because of our specialised focus, we’re less affected by this.”
With around 200 employees, the family-owned company produces all-electric, hydraulic, and hybrid machinery with clamping forces ranging from 400 kN to 11,000 kN for specialised applications. Among these are multi-component injection moulding, metal overmoulding, and sandwich moulding.
