Norwegian investors acquire majority stake

The manufacturer of biocompatible, antimicrobial compounds, Parx Materials (Rotterdam, Netherlands; www.parxmaterials.com) has a new majority shareholder. GCP Technology (Drammen, Norway) has acquired a 57% stake from founders Michaël van der Jagt and Michele Fiori, according to the Rotterdam-based company. GCP is an investment vehicle of Norwegian investors. Parx did not disclose the purchase price.

Van der Jagt described the transaction as an important milestone for Parx, as it allows the financing of the proprietary technology to be advanced further. In order to ensure an orderly transition, the two founders are to remain with the company for at least the coming year.
