Starting 30 September, Paolo Bochicchio is set to start as the new managing director for the EU-level trade association of European Plastics Converters (EuPC, Brussels; www.plasticsconverters.eu). The EuPC is not new to Bochicchio, who worked with the association from 2003 to 2010.

“Returning to lead a team where I once began my professional career in Brussels is both an honour and a responsibility. As managing director, I am excited to build on our shared history, driving innovation and sustainability in the plastic conversion industry. Together, we will shape a future that reflects our values and expertise, turning challenges into opportunities for growth and success,” Bochicchio said.
He is set to replace Bernard Merkx, who had been appointed for a transition period of two years after the departure of Alexandre Dangison 1 January 2023. Merkx will, however, remain linked to the association’s plastics network as manager of European Single ply Waterproofing Association (ESWA, Brussels; www.eswa-synthetics.org) and PET Sheet Europe (Brussels; www.petsheeteurope.eu), as well as co-founder of Waste Free Oceans (WFO, Brussels; www.wastefreeoceans.org).
