As of 3 July, carbon fibre specialist Toray Advanced Composites (Tokyo; www.toraytac.com) appointed David Bernard as the European managing director. His predecessor Erik Delnoij left the company at his own request after just two years of being in the position; no reasons were provided for his departure. This is the third change in the position in six years.
Bernard has worked at Toray for eight years, previously as divisional manager for the European market. The trained chemist has worked in the chemical industry for over 30 years and has held positions in both Europe and the US.
The change at the top European position is part of a personnel reorganisation at the Japanese company. A new global CEO, Scott Unger, was appointed in spring 2024.
