German packaging manufacturer strengthens international presence through acquisition in Slovenia

German manufacturer of dimensionally stable plastic packaging Gizeh (Bergneustadt, Germany; www.gizeh.com) has expanded its international market presence with the acquisition of Rotoprint (Dol pri Ljubljani, Slovenia; www.rotoprint.si). Gizeh acquired the Slovenian manufacturer of injection-moulded, thin-walled packaging for the food industry at the end of June. The company did not disclose the purchase price.

The Gizeh Group, which also specialises in the production of food packaging, currently has five production sites, including two in Germany (Bergneustadt and Esterwerda) and one each in France (Angers), Poland (Tarnowo Podgórne), and Canada (Brantford, Ontario). With around 800 employees, the company recently generated sales of around EUR 160 mn.
