Quantafuel sees the opening of the plant as an important step in realising Denmark’s recycling ambitions, as sorting has been a bottleneck for over a decade. The national government in Copenhagen wants to increase the recycling rate of plastic packaging waste to at least 50% by 2025, and to 55% by 2030, and in doing so thus drastically reduce thermal recycling of plastics waste.
