Distribution group acquires Dutch company Vesta Chemicals

German chemicals distributor Stockmeier (Bielefeld; www.stockmeier.de/en) has announced its acquisition of a majority stake in speciality chemicals distributor Vesta Chemicals (Zwolle, Netherlands; www.vestachem.com), with retroactive effect from 1 January 2024. The companies did not provide the purchase price or Vesta’s turnover.

Founded in 1988, Vesta Chemicals currently has 10 employees and distributes fine chemicals, intermediates, and speciality chemicals. Its portfolio includes polymerisation initiators, organic peroxides, and organic catalysts. The Dutch company’s customers include manufacturers of powder coatings, alkyd resins, polyurethane, epoxy resins, and plastics and elastomers. Vesta is currently active in more than 26 European countries, as well as North America.

Following the acquisition, the two current managing directors of Vesta, Harry Kleinsmit and Erik-Jan van Dijk, will be joined by Dirk Seidel, managing director of Stockmeier Chemie, and Jan Smeets, head of Belgian Stockmeier subsidiary Innochem (Meerhout; www.stockmeier.com/en/innochem). The Stockmeier Group network, which covers distribution, production, and services related to chemicals, now includes more than 50 locations worldwide with over 2,000 employees.
