UK firm expands film production

Polyethylene film producerĀ Polystar Plastics (Southampton, UK; www.polystar.co.uk) said it has expanded its production capacities by 4,500 t/y after installing a co-extrusion line from German machinery manufacturer Hosokawa Alpine (Augsburg; www.hosokawa-alpine.com).

The five-layer blown film line, its second such machine from Alpine, enables the firm to produce a wide range of films, including stretch hooding, collation shrink film, and films for lamination.

Polystar said it has also installed machinery for slitting and printing film. It added a printing press from Expert (Verona, Italy; www.expert-srl.it) in March this year and a slitter machine fromĀ Kampf (Wiehl, Germany; www.kampf.de) in April.
