Austrian EPS and EPP processing group Hirsch Servo (Glanegg; www.hirsch-gruppe.com) is continuing its expansion with the acquisition of Polish EPS processor Tyron (Kluczbork; www.tyron.pl), which took effect as of 4 April 2024.
With 50 employees, Tyron has been producing insulation products in EPS for the construction industry for 15 years. The Austrian group did not disclose the purchase price.

With its current entry into the Polish insulation market, Hirsch Servo also expects to generate “momentum” for the two locations in Wrocław and Łódź, which focus primarily on the production of packaging in the country, as CEO Harald Kogler explained.
Wiesław Czarnecki, previously sole managing director of Tyron, will in future be assuming the management of Tyron together with Szymon Hryniewicz, managing director of the two Polish facilities.
Hirsch Servo has now has 36 production locations and just under 2,000 employees, primarily as a result of acquisitions. In addition to taking over the XPS insulation production of AkzoNobel (Amsterdam; www.akzonobel.com) in Romania, the Austrian group has recently strengthened its mechanical engineering activities through the acquisition of Germany’s Erlenbach (Lautert; www.erlenbach.com).
The group also made a move into the world of injection moulding last year with the acquisition of Czech automotive supplier Renostav (Zábřeh na Moravě; www.renostav.cz).
