ISCC Plus certification for Technyl, Domamid / PA with reduced carbon footprint
German polyamide specialist Domo Chemicals (Leuna; www.domochemicals.com/en) said it has obtained ISCC Plus certification for the Technyl and Domamid high-end polyamides produced at its Leuna headquarters as well as at Gorzow, Poland, and Arco, Italy.

At the three European sites, the company uses the mass balance approach powered by Dutch IT company Circularise (The Hague; www.circularise.com) that integrates bio-circular and circular materials into existing production processes and allows them to be traced along the entire chain.

Along with compatriot engineering plastics producer Covestro (Leverkusen; www.covestro.com), Domo helped Circularise to develop the process.
Domo said its extended range now includes PA 6 products with varying percentages of recycled content that have a reduced environmental impact and support a circular economy without any compromise on performance.
In collaboration with Italian E&E equipment manufacturer Vimar (Marostica; www.vimar.com/en/int), the German company said it has developed a new ISCC Plus-certified halogen-free, self-extinguishing PA 6 composed of bio-cycle raw material including recycled processing waste.
