Purchasing cooperation with adapa comes to an end
German film and packaging specialist Bischof + Klein (B+K, Lengerich; www.bk-international.com) announced that it does not intend to move forward with plans to expand its purchasing partnership with competitor adapa (Wiener Neudorf, Austria; www.adapa-group.com), formerly Schur Flexibles.

The company cited “different strategic alignments” when announcing its decision. CEO Tobias Lührig said, “After three successful years, there no longer seems to be any point for us in continuing the cooperation”. He did not give any further details in response to a Plasteurope.com query.
Bischof+Klein said it would not renew contracts with suppliers that were negotiated together with Adapa, but will instead in future purchase the products it needs independently.
The competitors had teamed up at the end of 2020 to form a strategic purchasing partnership. The cooperation initially amounted to a volume of around EUR 500 mn in two product groups.
