Guzman Polymers to distribute cellulose granulate in Southern Europe
Spanish distributor Guzmán Polymers (Valencia; www.guzmanpolymers.com) said it has taken over the distribution of Woodly granulate of Finnish manufacturer of the same name, Woodly (Espoo; www.woodly.com) for Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Turkey.

The basis of Woodly is a cellulose polymer obtained from wood. The cellulose is then modified with various building blocks to make it behave like plastic. “We also use components of fossil origin, as some of the bio-based counterparts are not yet available on an industrial scale,” the Finnish company says. Currently, first generation Woodly grades are certified by TÜV Austria as “40% to 60% bio-based”.
Guzmán has been majority-owned by the Hromatka distribution group (Aesch, Switzerland; www.hgmag.ch) since 2020, with sales volume recently reported at around 80,000 t. In addition to Sabic, the Spanish distributor also works with other industry giants such as Radici, Röhm, Ineos Styrolution, Solvay, LG Chem, and Domo.
