Toy giant taps Stube as head of sustainability / Move follows end of plans to replace ABS with rPET
Lego (Billund, Denmark; www.lego.com) has named Annette Stube the chief sustainability officer. She is scheduled to start the job at the world's largest toy manufacturer on 1 January 2024, the company said.

The move comes just days after Lego announced that it had scotched plans to substitute the ABS used in its signature building blocks with rPET because the change would not contribute to the desired reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
Stube is currently responsible for sustainability at Finnish-Swedish paper and packaging groupĀ Stora Enso. She previously held similar positions at Danish firms Maersk, a force in global shipping, and Novo Nordisk, a pharmaceutical supplier. She is also on the executive board of the Danish branch of the environmental protection organisation WWF and has advised Copenhagen on various sustainability issues.
