Light diffusing compounds made from recycled polycarbonate / Company renames Mexico facility
German compounder Mocom (Hamburg; www.mocom.eu) now offers light diffusing compounds based on mechanically recycled post-industrial and post-consumer polycarbonate recyclates for optically diffuse, translucent applications. The compounds are part of the Alcom LD Eeco and Alcom LG Eco portfolios and will join the Alcom Lighting portfolio, the company said.

The PC material streams used are carefully screened, compounded on specially designed process equipment, and provided with precisely selected additives, according to the supplier. The photometric properties of the Eco grades are individually adjusted and specified and can contain up to 100% polymer recyclate, Mocom said.
In other company news, the Monterrey, Mexico, facility of Albis Plastics, a subsidiary of Mocom, has been renamed Mocom Compounds Mexico. The name change unifies its brand presence but will not affect customers or any contractual partners or existing business relationships, Mocom said.
