More compounding capacity for China / Dynamic growth prompts shift to larger facility
German compounder and distributor Lehmann & Voss (LuV, Hamburg; www.lehvoss.com) is relocating its Lehvoss New Material (Kunshan) production facility and associated technology centre in China to larger premises within the Kunshan German Industrial Park. Lehvoss New Material now has an area of 5,000 m² for production and its technical centre – double the previous size.

A company spokesperson did not give a figure for the production capacity at the new location when asked by Plasteurope.com, but said that the compounding facility, which has been in operation since 2016, has been expanded with additional extrusion lines. In total, the spokesperson put the company’s total output, which is spread over four plants worldwide, at 35,000 t/y.
The main reason for the expansion was the “very dynamic growth in China and South Korea”, as the personally liable partner Thomas Oehmichen explained. The company not only supplies the Chinese subsidiaries of European companies, but has now also been able to win numerous Asian customers for its high-performance and technical compounds as well as masterbatches and additives.
In addition to the plant in Kunshan, Lehmann & Voss operates three sales offices in China. The latest addition is the office in Shenzhen, which was founded in 2022 and complements its headquarters in Shanghai and the representative office in Dalian.
