MBA Polymers (Worksop; www.mbapolymers.co.uk) has announced that it is opening a new domestic plant in Wimblington as part of plans to establish a nationwide plastics recycling network. The company said the site will become operational in September and support plans for producing 100,000 t of recycled plastics by 2030.

The latest plant is MBA Polymers UK’s fourth location in the country and joins its original Worksop site in Nottinghamshire, a separation line in Dover acquired in 2019, and operations in Duddeston in the West Midlands established in 2022.

Company GM Paul Mayhew said, “The establishment of our fourth facility will significantly amplify our recycling capacities by 35%, diverting tonnes of plastics waste from landfill and providing high-quality recycled polymers back into the circular economy.”

The company said expanding its network will reduce the need to transport feedstock over long distances and support its growing product portfolio as it increases its colour range. It explained that it transforms plastics bound for landfill into recycled polymers, including polypropylene, polyethylene, poylstyrene, and ABS, used in sectors such as electronics and automotive.
