Sotac is exclusively a distributor and does not have its own compounding capacities. Instead, according to a Hromatka spokesperson, the company works with partners – among others for PA 6 and 6.6, polypropylene, and ABS/PA blends, which are refined with reinforcing fibres and fillers.
According to the spokesperson, the turnover of the company, which employs 18 people, was recently around EUR 20 mn.
With this acquisition, Hromatka is expanding its presence in the Italian market, which has been served in the north by Guzman Polymers since 2020. With Radici, Vamptech, Cossa Polimeri, and Kolon, Sotac is also bringing in additional suppliers.
The group around Hromatka-Holding, which operates mainly in Central and Eastern Europe, comprises several distributors and compounders. These include Grässlin (Kirchlengern and Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany; www.graesslin-kunststoffe.de), Plastoplan (Vienna; www.plastoplan.com), Lenorplastics (Aesch, Rotkreuz, Switzerland; www.lenorplastics.com), and Sax Polymers (Oberriet, Switzerland, and Vienna; www.saxpolymers.com).
The distribution portfolio includes thermoplastics from polyolefins to polyamides, ABS, PBT, polycarbonate, PC/ABS, PPO, and high-performance plastics such as PPS, PEI, and PEEK.
