HDPE resin enables downgauging for tethered caps
French petrochemicals giant TotalEnergies (Paris; www.totalenergies.com) has launched a high-density polyethylene resin for tethered-cap applications, which it claims reduces material usage, enhances recovery, and improves recycling compared to the reference material on the market.

The resin is designed for monomaterial PE packaging solutions to facilitate sorting and recycling, and is suitable for food-contact applications. It is also in line with European Directive 2019/904 on the reduction of the impact of plastic products on the environment, the company said.
