Italian injection moulder sets sights on Canada
According to Italian media reports, local firm Sunino (Castellamonte; www.grupposunino.com) is putting out feelers for North America. “To the activities in Italy, Romania, Moldova, Hungary, and India, we are now adding Canada, where we are entering the market for sustainable packaging,” CEO Laura Sunino was quoted as saying, with no further details were provided.

To finance the expansion plans, local bank Crédit Agricole Italia and compatriot export credit insurance agency SACE (www.sace.it) have loaned the injection moulding company EUR 10 mn.
Founded in Castellamonte in 1950, Sunino is active in plastics injection moulding, mould making, including decoration, assembly, and finishing. In addition to rigid packaging, it also produces sporting goods and toys; its most recent turnover was EUR 85 mn.
Sunino employs around 3,500 worldwide at the 10 plants managed by its subsidiaries Plastic Legno, Dream Plast India, Omnia Toys India, Plastic Technology, Belgrade Rackpart, Omnia Technologies, Omnia Plast, and Omnia Packaging.
