Acquisition gives French distributor fifth business in UK
French speciality chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan (Paris; www.safic-alcan.com) said it has acquired UK-based engineered plastics distributor 4Plas (Hinkley; www.4plas.com) for an undisclosed sum.
The deal is the fifth undertaken by the French firm in the UK in the last 15 years. Barry McDonnell, MD of Safic-Alcan UK, said adding 4Plas to the firm’s portfolio would boost its plastics activities, which currently account for 5% of its EUR 725 mn annual turnover.
