With the takeover of Polish film and packaging manufacturer Drukpol Flexo (Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki; www.drukpolflexo.pl) on 2 March, packaging manufacturer Constantia Flexibles (Vienna; www.cflex.com) has further expanded its market presence in the Polish packaging market.
The world’s third-largest manufacturer of flexible packaging for consumer and pharmaceutical industries, which most recently reported sales of EUR 1.6 bn, is adding two new sites to its existing Polish locations in Rogowiec and Jejkowice as a result of the transaction. Financial details of the deal, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2023, were not disclosed.
Founded in 1992, Drukpol Flexo employs around 180 at its two sites near Warsaw and supplies customers in the food, beverage, non-food, and pet food industries.

Constantia has repeatedly announced its intention to grow not only organically, but also through acquisitions. Last year, the Austrian group took its first step on the British Isles with the takeover of UK competitor FFP Packaging Solutions (Northampton; www.ffppkg.co.uk). Earlier this year, Constantia signed a joint venture agreement with Indian packaging manufacturer SB Packagings (New Delhi; www.facebook.com/SBPackagings) for the Indian market to expand its range of hygiene packaging there.
With around 8,660 employees at 39 sites in 16 countries, Constantia produces flexible packaging for the consumer and pharmaceutical industries, with plastic packaging accounting for just under half and aluminium solutions the remainder. Consumer packaging comprises 75% of sales, with pharmaceutical packaging at 25%.
