During a 23 February 2023 inspection at the headquarters site of Austrian EPS producer Sunpor (St. Pölten; www.sunpor.at), a flash fire reportedly took the life of the employee of a contractor and injured a Sunpor worker.
The accident occurred during a planned outage with hot work in production. “For us, this is a bad scenario that we deeply regret,” a company spokesperson said. “We are working on finding the cause and have appointed a committee of experts for this purpose.”
The flash fire is said to have at no point posed a danger for neighbouring companies and workers.
