Vanacker said the new corporate unit “will provide clear accountability, and enables LyondellBasell to have a differentiated operating model.” This unit, he said, will focus on growing the olefins and polyolefins group’s Circulen renewable and circular solutions and accelerating the development of scalable sustainable and circular technologies.
Adding a new business unit is one of a number of changes to take place from 1 October 2022 that the new CEO said illustrate “the deliberate steps LyondellBasell is taking in the company’s evolution.” Additionally, to align business strategy with execution, business units will now have global responsibility for manufacturing operations.
In LYB’s future managerial team, Kenneth Lane will hold the position of executive VP, Olefins and Polyolefins, and Torkel Rhenman will serve as executive VP, Advanced Polymer Solutions. James Guilfoyle, who will be based in Rotterdam, is taking on the role of senior VP for O&P Europe, Africa, Middle East and India (EAMEI).
