Melo selected vice-president of performance materials unit

Austrian polyolefin producer Borealis (Vienna; www.borealis.com) said it appointed Jonatas Melo, 45, as VP Performance Materials effective 1 August 2022. The role includes responsibility for the company’s infrastructure and consumer products businesses, and Melo is expected in particular to drive its circular ambitions in packaging and pipe systems.
The native Brazilian started out at energy supplier Cosan and ExxonMobil in South America. In 2013, he joined Borealis subsidiary Borouge, taking on management positions mainly for the Middle East and Singapore, most recently as vice-president Asia South.
