PVC window profile manufacturer Deceuninck (Hooglede-Gits, Belgium; www.deceuninck.com) has announced record revenue of EUR 488.7 mn for the first half of the year, the result of a year-on-year jump of 21% supported mainly by price increases. Adjusted EBITDA grew 11.2% to EUR 56.8 mn, while the adjusted EBITDA margin eased to 11.6% compared to 12.6% in the first half of 2021 and 10.8% in the second half of last year.
Meanwhile, volumes in the first half declined 6.1% versus the initial six months of 2021, which Deceuninck said is due in part to the collapse of the Russian market. The company noted that “the difficult environment in Turkey” was also a factor, as was the slowdown of residential construction activity across the globe towards the end of the first half of the year.

Climate conscious
The Belgian firm also recently announced its commitment to reduce emissions according to net zero targets of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). Deceuninck has thus joined the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign, a globally organised group of companies committed to limiting global warming to 1.5°C in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.
Emissions related to own operations (Scope 1 & 2) account for only 12% of Deceuninck’s environmental footprint. The company says it has committed to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 60% from 2021 to 2030. Given the expected growth, this requires an emissions reduction of 75% per tonne of product produced.
