With the acquisition of Auserpolimeri (Piano di Coreglia, Italy; www.auserpolimeri.it), Brüggemann (Heilbronn, Germany; www.brueggemann.com) has strengthened its market presence. According to the plastics additives supplier, the Italian specialist for polymer grafting by reactive extrusion, which was acquired by the Eigenmann & Veronelli Group (Rho, Italy; www.eigver.com), operates in an economically attractive niche.
“The chemically functionalised polyolefin-based polymers, with their impact modifiers, compatibilisers, coupling agents and adhesion promoters, complement our range of high-performance additives,” said Klaus Bergmann, head of plastics additives at Brüggemann.
The transaction increases the German firm’s workforce to more than 300, and its annual turnover increases to about EUR 210 mn, but that’s not the end of the story: “We want to further strengthen the area of plastics additives, both through the expansion of production capacities at the Heilbronn and Piano di Coreglia sites and through more newly developed products,” explained Brüggemann shareholder and chairman Ronald Ayles.
