European recycling initiative RecyClass (Brussels; www.recyclass.eu) said its new Design Book explains how to create rigid and flexible plastic packaging to make it compatible with recycling so that ultimately it is circular.
The guide is said to clarifies sorting and recycling processes, and how they determine packaging recyclability, as well as cover closure systems, labels, barrier technologies, etc.
The document elaborates on RecyClass’s Design for Recycling Guidelines and can be used by those in the European plastic industry working on designing recyclable plastic packaging.
