The outlay is designed to support customers who want to switch from multi-layer, non-recyclable packaging to more sustainable alternatives, such as mono-material recyclable stand-up pouches and paper-based pre-made bags.
Mondi has also ploughed cash into new machinery at its plant in Korneuburg, Austria, which is expected to increase capacity for pre-made retort stand-up pouches for wet pet food.
