Distributor of industrial packaging made of paper and plastic, Antalis (Boulogne-Billancourt, France; www.antalis.com), is on the way to acquire Spanish label manufacturer Cohal Group (Pinto; www.cohal.com). Both parties have signed a binding purchase agreement, Antalis said. The purchase price was not disclosed, and the takeover is yet to be approved by the responsible supervisory authorities.

With the transaction, Antalis wants to expand its activities on the Iberian Peninsula. The Cohal Group, based in Pinto near Madrid and consisting of the two sub-companies, Autoadhesivos Cohal and Garalmi, manufactures and distributes self-adhesive labels and adhesive tapes based on polyethylene, polypropylene, and PVC films for B2B customers. With 60 employees, the company generated a turnover of EUR 12.7 mn in 2021.

Antalis is part of the Kokusai Pulp & Paper Group (Tokyo, Japan; www.kppc.co.jp), one of the world’s leading paper wholesalers with annual sales of about EUR 4.2 bn. The French distribution company has 93 sales locations and employs about 3,800. Towards the end of March 2022, it also announced an acquisition agreement for German packaging distributor, BB Pack.
