Belgian speciality chemicals and food additives distributor Azelis (Antwerp; www.azelis.com) has acquired Chempart Polymers and parent group Chemical Partners (Beirut; www.chempart.com) for an undisclosed sum.
The companies – based in both Lebanon and Belgium – distribute speciality chemicals with a strong foothold in the African and Middle Eastern industrial chemicals markets, especially in rubber and plastics additives, and coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers (CASE).
The acquisition strengthens Azelis’ portfolio of products and expertise in the regions’ key end-markets for industrial chemicals, as well as expanding its geographic footprint. Chemical Partners is present in more than 30 countries across the Middle East and Africa, including the Levant and Sub-Saharan Africa, providing further growth opportunities.

Commenting on the deal, Azelis CEO Hans-Joachim Müller said, “This acquisition is an important milestone in our strategy to reinforce our market leadership in the region. Chemical Partners is a very strong fit to our product portfolio and geographical footprint, significantly strengthening our lateral value chain and positioning us to service more customers and grow with our principals.”
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2022, subject to customary closing conditions. Chemical Partners’ core management team will remain in their roles and continue to lead the business, supporting the integration into Azelis.
