The Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group (Oud-Beijerland, the Netherlands; www.paardekoopergroup.com) continues to expand. This time, domestic subsidiary Broekhof (Noordwijkerhout; www.broekhof.nl), a flower and plant-breeding multinational, has acquired the packaging division of compatriot agricultural specialist Van Iperen (Westmaas; www.iperen.com). Financial details of the sale and production volumes at the company were not disclosed.
Van Iperen CEO Dirk-Jan Bakker said the sale allows his company to focus on growth in the areas of crop protection and fertilizers. Paardekooper, in turn, said it expects to expand its market position in the floriculture sector by strengthening its “Horti” business area, which in addition to Broekhof also includes domestic film packaging firm Dillewijn Zwapak, which was acquired last year (see Plasteurope.com of 05.08.2021).
