German distributor Albis (Hamburg; www.albis.com) is expanding its range of styrenics from compatriot firm Ineos Styrolution (Frankfurt; www.ineos-styrolution.com) with products said to offer sustainable aspects. New additions are Styrolux Eco, Styroflex Eco (both SBC), Nas Eco (SMMA), and Luran Eco (SAN), according to the company. The distribution rights for the products, which target applications in cosmetics, packaging, and food, cover the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Asia-Pacific regions.
Albis said the sustainable materials have the same mechanical properties as their petroleum-based counterparts. They are certified under the ISCC Plus mass balance approach and are based on styrene, which is derived from renewable raw materials from kitchen and wood waste and does not compete with food production.
