French PVC producer Kem One (Lyon; www.kemone.com) has announced the departure of CEO Frédéric Chalmin half a year after being acquired by US investment firm Apollo Global Management (New York, New York; www.apolloic.com – see Plasteurope.com of 11.01.2021). Laurent Lenoir will step in as interim CEO.
Kem One’s parting words hint that its New York-based owner might consider Chalmin too conservative: “We believe a leadership change will allow the company to accelerate its growth”. There was also talk of investment and modernisation.
The search for a permanent chief executive “that will embody Kem One’s values and help drive sustainable growth” has already begun. This also indicates a level of discord between Chalmin and the company’s new owner.
