French speciality chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan (Paris; www.safic-alcan.com) has acquired 100% of the shares in European Additives (Cologne, Germany; www.european-additives.de). Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The Cologne-based company, which primarily distributes flame retardants, stabilisers, antioxidants, UV absorbers, nucleating agents, and other additives for the European plastics industry will from now on be part of Safic-Alcan’s German business.
The acquisition not only strengthens the French firm’s activities in Germany, but also creates growth opportunities in other regions through European Additives’ distribution network, said Yann Lissillour, CEO of the Safic-Alcan Group.
