With the objective of achieving European Commission’s Circular Plastics Alliance’s (CPA) targets of 10 mn t/y of recycled polymers use between 2025 and 2030, the Belgium-based quality compliance programme for plastics processors PolyCert Europe (Brussels; www.polycerteurope.eu) is working together with the European Plastics Converters’ (EuPC, Brussels; www.plasticsconverters.eu) online platform Monitoring Recyclates for Europe (MORE).
The partners said European companies will be able to report data on volumes of recycled plastics they transform or use in their products to the MORE platform. Audits carried out by the CPA are to then guarantee that the reported data is reliable, and PolyCert Europe plans to bring organisations together to share best practices and harmonise and set minimum requirements for audit schemes.
Recently, the MORE platform was confirmed as a CPA data collector by the CPA Monitoring Secretariat and CPA Monitoring Working Group (see Plasteurope.com of 25.02.2022).
