German semi-finished products manufacturer Simona (Kirn; www.simona.de) has bought UK plastic pipe manufacturer Peak Pipe Systems (Chesterfield; www.peakpipesystems.com) from its holding company owner Bridgstock, also based in Chesterfield. Financial details were not disclosed.

Simona chairman Matthias Schönberg said the deal would boost his company’s growth targets in the infrastructure and aquaculture markets within the EMEA region and expand the group’s product portfolio in the UK.

Peak MD Russ Brown said the group has worked with Simona for more than 30 years. “We see synergies at all levels of our organisation – culture, products, know-how, customer focus, can-do attitude – these make us very positive about the future.”

Peak serves gas, water, drainage, power, renewable energy, and aquaculture sectors. In the year ending 31 March 2021, the company reported turnover of GBP 31.4 mn (EUR 37.7 mn) and pre-tax profit of GBP 4 mn (EUR 4.8 mn). It employs around 70.
