German plastics processor Ensinger (Nufringen; www.ensinger-online.com) has announced the purchase of the StyLight brand thermoplastic composite materials business from compatriot resin maker Ineos Styrolution (Frankfurt; www.ineos-styrolution.com). Financial details were not disclosed.
With the acquisition, the German firm is expanding its portfolio to include products based on SAN (styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer). As part of the transaction, StyLight products, which the former owner introduced at the K 2016 trade fair, will be renamed and marketed under the Tecatec brand name.
“The takeover is the next strategic building block on our way to becoming one of the few manufacturers that can offer the entire value chain for thermoplastic composites,” Ensinger MD Ralph Pernizsak said.
