INEOS STYROLUTION
Converted ABS line starts production in France / Increased European demand
Ineos Styrolution (Frankfurt, Germany, www.ineos-styrolution.com) said it has begun ABS production at its newly converted 50,000 t/y plant in Wingles, France. The restart of the facility that formerly produced PS was set for early 2021 but delayed due to a longer-than-expected test phase (see Plasteurope.com of 26.05.2021).
The Ineos subsidiary said the conversion makes the French site its third location for ABS in Europe alongside Antwerp, Belgium, and Cologne, Germany. The new capacity will help to meet increased demand for ABS from the European construction, compounding, household products and automotive sectors. The site will continue to produce PS for applications in construction and packaging.

Alexander Glück, company president for EMEA, said the ABS plant not only increases the company’s output for the styrenic polymer in Europe, but also allows it to provide new solutions to respond to developing customer demand across a broader portfolio.
The sites in Wingles and Antwerp manufacture Ineos Styrolution’s standard ABS brands “Terluran” and “Lustran”, while Cologne focuses on specialities such as “Novodur”.
