CEO Charles Héaulmé takes time off due to illness / Thomas Geust to take over as interim CEO

The CEO and president of Finnish packaging group Huhtamaki (Espoo; www.huhtamaki.com), Charles Héaulmé, is having to take time off due to illness. According to the company, Héaulmé plans to seek treatment for cancer at the beginning of January 2022 and is expected to return during the second quarter. Effective 1 January, Thomas Geust, the group’s current chief financial officer (CFO) and a board member since 2013, will take over as interim CEO.
Héaulmé has been CEO at the Finnish packaging group since April 2019 (see Plasteurope.com of 15.01.2019). Previously, he had worked for 10 years at composite carton specialist Tetra Pak (Lausanne / Switzerland; www.tetrapak.com).
