Resin producers seem to be hiking prices at monthly intervals. Polynt (Bergamo / Italy; www.polynt.it) wants to increase the price of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins at the turn of the year, due to higher costs for energy and CO2 emissions certificates. Processors are facing an increase of EUR 180/t for both product groups.
Shortly after the editorial deadline, AOC (European headquarters: Schaffhausen / Switzerland; www.aocresins.com) also announced its intention to implement a price hike for UP and VE resins with immediate effect. In the EMEA region, the products are to become EUR 200/t more expensive.
In the meantime, Allnex (Frankfurt / Germany; www.allnex.com), which focuses on resins for coating applications, has in the meantime raised prices for phenolic resins of brands “Phenodur”, “Alnovol” and “Alpex” by EUR 150/t to EUR 1,000/t worldwide.
