The evolving coronavirus situation, the tightening of safety measures, and strict entry restrictions have prompted organiser Messe Luzern (www.messeluzern.ch) to postpone the biennial “Swiss Plastics Expo” by another year. Originally planned for 15 to 17 March 2022, the next edition of the fair is now set to take place in 2023. The exact date will be communicated at the beginning of 2022, according to the organiser.
The previous event in January 2020 recorded fewer exhibitors and visitors: around 4,100 visitors gathered information from some 260 exhibitors over the three days of the fair (see Plasteurope.com of 30.01.2020).
Meanwhile, the Swiss Packaging Institute (SVI, Bern; www.svi-verpackung.ch) has also announced a later date for its annual conference. Due to pandemic-related developments, it is to be held at Technopark Zurich on 27 April 2022 instead of 19 January. Discussions are expected to focus on sustainability, regulatory requirements, and the role of packaging in an increasingly digitalised world, according to the organiser.
