Halogen-free PP blister film for pharma / Alternative to PVC, PVDC solutions
The Medica medical technology segment of German packaging manufacturer Südpack (Ochsenhausen; www.suedpack.com) announced it was adding a polypropylene-based, halogen-free film for blister packaging to its range of thermoformed films. According to the company, the new material is a sustainable alternative to the widespread PVC/PVDC blister film for pharmaceutical applications.

Südpack is currently also developing a PP-based lid system. With the resulting mono-material packaging system, the company aims to fulfil the requirements of recyclability and circularity.
