Well, apparently nobody wants insolvent Italian polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) producer Bio-on (Bologna; www.bio-on.it ), at least not for the millions of euros that a local court is asking. In this latest attempt to sell the company (see Plasteurope.com of 02.08.2021), the minimum bid is “only” EUR 42m, well below the EUR 95m price tag the court first set for the assets.
Details were unavailable on whether any interested parties took a closer look at the assets, which include property, the brand, buildings, and facilities.
Bio-on declared insolvency in December 2019 after CEO Marco Astorri was arrested on suspicion of accounting fraud and market manipulation.
