In the direct vicinity of its Italian branch in Parma, Tomra Recycling recently opened a test centre for the sorting of polyolefin and PET flakes. In order to meet the rising demand for high-quality plastics recyclate, Tomra will, together with customers and partners, carry out material tests in Parma and develop new technologies in the field of flake sorting, said sales and marketing boss Fabrizio Radice at the opening celebrations.

Tomra Recycling manufactures sensor-based sorting technologies for the recycling and waste management industry. Until now, over 7,400 systems have been installed in more than 100 countries worldwide. Its parent company Tomra Sorting Solutions (Asker / Norway; www.tomra.com) is listed on the Oslo stock exchange and most recently posted sales of around EUR 985m with a workforce of about 4,300.

Recently, Tomra announced plans to install reverse-vending machines across 140 Tesco supermarkets in Slovakia to support the country’s future deposit-return scheme (see Plasteurope.com of 23.09.2021).
