At its Turkish site in Gebze, Mauser Packaging Solutions (Oak Brook, Illinois / USA; www.mauserpackaging.com) said it is expanding production capacity for intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and plastic drums. A new line for plastic drums is to be installed by the end of 2021, followed by a new blow moulding machine for IBC production at the beginning of 2022, according to the industrial packaging manufacturer. The investments will also support the reconditioning business.
From Gebze, Mauser wants to serve the demand for packaging materials in the Middle East and Southeast Europe. At the plant, which is about 50 km east of Istanbul, the company has been manufacturing steel drums since 1974. Plastics processing and IBC reconditioning were added later. Mauser reports more than 180 locations worldwide and over 11,000 employees.
