US speciality films maker Transcendia (Franklin Park, Illinois; www.transcendia.com) plans to raise the available production output at its domestic site in Union Township, Ohio, by the end of the coming year, according to local US newspaper The Newark Advocate. The report said the company is building facilities to make barrier films intended primarily for the healthcare and food industries.
The investment was quoted at USD 41m (EUR 34m), with 36 jobs expected to be created by the expansion. Transcendia has yet to confirm the story or provide information on the size of the capacity expansion.
The company was founded in 1931, and CEO John Bagnuolo has been in charge since November 2019. The supplier sees itself as the world market leader for speciality films. It operates 17 plants worldwide along with three distribution centres (see Plasteurope.com of 08.06.2017).
