Swiss distributor Hromatka (Aesch; www.hgmag.ch), which focuses on engineering plastics, and British PEEK specialist Victrex (Thornton Cleveleys; www.victrex.com) have expanded their cooperation. Hromatka will now also distribute Victrex’s PEEK and PAEK polymer solutions in Italy and France, according to a recent announcement by both firms. Markets in Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe are also served.

Victrex’s high-performance thermoplastics will be distributed by two Hromatka subsidiaries: Aectra Plastiques in France (see Plasteurope.com of 15.06.2016), and Guzmán Polymers in Italy; this unit has been majority-owned by Hromatka since the summer of 2020 (see Plasteurope.com of 07.08.2020). Hromatka’s distribution portfolio includes polypropylene, polyethylene, polyamide, polycarbonate, ABS, PC/ABS, PBT, PPO, PPS, PEI and PEEK.

For Victrex, the Covid-19 crisis clearly left its mark last year (see Plasteurope.com of 26.01.2021). Sales volumes fell 6.9% to 3,492 t in fiscal 2019/20, while turnover slipped 9.5% to the equivalent of just under EUR 300m.
