The distribution portfolio of Albis (Hamburg / Germany; www.albis.com) is set to be expanded with immediate effect to include TPE product series “Evoprene R” of US compounder Alphagary (Leominster, Massachusetts; www.alphagary.com).
The TPE-S compounds are particularly suitable for applications with high regulatory requirements – for example products with food-contact, medical and dental uses, or for children’s toys. The compound series was developed with food-grade ingredients in accordance with directives EU 10/2011, 1935/2004 and US FDA 21CFR.
Evoprene R grades are available with Shore hardness from A12 to A73. According to Albis, the technical properties of the TPE-S compounds are characterised by good resilience and resistance to various mediums. They behave like rubber, but flow like thermoplastics when exposed to heat and pressure.
Alphagary (formerly Mexichem Specialty Compounds), with sites in Colombia, Mexico, the UK and the US, along with the PVC production of Vestolit (Marl / Germany; www.vestolit.de) is part of the Polymer Solutions business unit of Orbia, formerly known as Mexichem (Tlalnepantla / Mexico; www.orbia.com).
